Update on Cohen, too!

We've been quite consumed with little sister lately, but Cohen's had a lot going on, too! Between winning contests and starting t-ball, he's a busy guy! I snapped that picture at the bottom as he was playing catch with his daddy last week during his first t-ball practice. After I looked at it a little closer when we got home, I had a moment of "mom shock" (and yes, I did just make up a phrase).... Mom shock is when you look at a picture of your own child(ren) and you can't believe they are about to be ____ years old (in Cohen's case, HE'S ABOUT TO BE 4 YEARS OLD?!?!) Where has the time gone?

Eleanor is going to LOVE bath time because that's the time she gets to take off that band and rinse off her head - that has most likely been sweaty a-l-l day! The video is precious - she should be called Hurricane Eleanor! (She got water EVERYWHERE!!)

And here we are, home at last. I think this is Eleanor's "I have to wear this HOW MANY hours a day" face.

But maybe it won't be so bad. First nap in her crib with her band on.

The stinkin' thing gives that pretty baby "angry eyes," though. Her Papa got it right when he said, "It's what's in her heart that counts, and she's a happy baby!"

We officially got Eleanor's DOC Band on Friday, March 7. The first day, she was only able to wear it for about 3 hours because when we took it off, we saw lots of red spots - which signal either heat or pressure, and neither are spots that we want to see. Saturday was a little better. We were able to go three 3-hour rounds with it on, but we still didn't make her sleep in it. As of today, she's only had it off for about 15 minutes or so because we are no longer seeing the red spots. I suppose that means she's acclimating to it well. Honestly, she's doing a lot better in it than I am. Quite frankly, I hate it. I hate that she has to wear the stupid thing and I hate the stares we get when we're in public - like something is wrong with her. Time will fly with her in it - or at least I hope so - and then we'll look back on it and be glad we took care of it when we did. It's a relatively easy fix right now, and will take care of what could be potentially challenging problems to "fix" in the future. I'm trying to remain as positive as I can around her, though. No reason to cause her any concern. She really is quite a happy baby these days - helmet or not! Our next follow-up appointment will be Friday, March 14 and then we can "bling" her band! These pictures are silly, Daddy! This one is SO Eleanor - she does this little laugh when she's excited to see someone or someone does something to tickle her. I love it!

Today was the PERFECT day to be outside, so Will and I decided, why not take the kids to Sea World?! It was great - not many people at the park, Cohen was brave and rode his first roller-coaster - the Shamu Express, and Eleanor loves being outdoors! We couldn't have asked for a better trip! Both kids were conked out on the drive home, so it must have been fun! We can't wait to do it again soon!
